johndoe
Actually that's the only reason for the downtime, we felt like we needed more likes and this was the easiest way to get them. :P Hey, how about that, I can still make jokes even after being pissed off at hosts/DDoSers for a week :Dyou, sir, are a sadist to have kept us all on tenterhooks for the better part of a month for just a few likes! if all you wanted was likes, all you had to do was post a few nice "naturist" pics (preferably of the fairer and lighter sex instead of your own) and we would have given you even more likes than you have collected so far! :P but seriously though, good job fighting off the DDOS, keep up the good work, we are with you! :guns:

psyko666
Is there a way to DDos back.. I mean to attack those who attacked nsane ?! There is a way to DDos.. I did it way back to support Anonymous.. I used an app for it, dunno the name, maybe members of nsane can attack the source IP that is responsible for it ?! What do you think shought ?! johndoe
highly illegal at best. better to discuss in PM with shought rather than openly if anyone intends to actually go through with it ;)
Tweety.Abd
I think we should take the higher ground and not resort to DDoSing our attackers (if that's even possible).

I did it way back to support Anonymous.. I used an app for it, dunno the name, maybe members of nsane can attack the source IP that is responsible for it ?! What do you think shought ?!It would make very little sense to DDoS the IPs (yes, multiple (thousands) as in Distributed Denial of Service) which were attacking us as these are probably just part of a botnet. As such it will probably be impossible to get to who was responsible for this attack. So all we can do is just laugh at them for failing, I guess. Administrator DKT27 Posted September 24, 2012 Administrator Share Posted September 24, 2012 Ok I understand shought... (not all but... ^_^ ) In simple terms. The attack wasn't from one single source, so it's impossible to track the attacker down. The tool you are talking about is LOIC (or HOIC), but it's no use unless we have any source from which these attacks happened.
tezza
Thanks to all the staff and especially shought for getting nsane up and running again.
grouchysmurf
Ok, hypothetically speaking, and in no way am I suggesting anything illegal, perish the thought, but just suppose someone high up on the admin ladder, (shought, dkt27), just as an example did happen to track s source for the possible botnet that is screwing with our reading enjoyment, a simple whois would give the ip range and the admin email for complaints, and if said admin(s) were to accidentally pm this email addy to some of the nsane members, I for one would probably turn in a complaint saying that their ip range is committing attacks against my machine. Now if one complains, probably gets ignored. How about a crap load of complaints? Hypothetically of course.
shought
The IPs involved in this attack are probably either spoofed or owned by unsuspecting users who have been infected with malware. There is no way to 'retaliate' to a DDoS attack other than to simply stay online, which is what we're attempting to do ;)Thanks for all the support initiatives though, it's great to see you guys feel the same way about nsane as we do :)

shought
what is the direct link for nsane.down; I kep getting hosted by lighttpd webpage, thankshttp://www.nsanedown.com/ ? Flush your DNS cache (cmd --> ipconfig /flushdns) and clear your browser's cache, that should help. If it's still not working send me a PM with the output of cmd --> ping nsanedown.com.
