Will Apple go after HTC now?

Apple has won the first round in the Patent War(s), with their attention expected to shift to HTC. But HTC has stated they will not settle and are confident they can face Apple in a legal battle.

This isn’t a new story. It was as far back as March 2010 that Apple first filed papers with the US International Trade Commission (ITC) and the US District Court in Delaware claiming HTC infringed on a number of Apple's patents.

Until May this year, there hadn’t been a lot of movement on the case. But in May, the HTC One X and HTC 4G LTE were halted by US customs and in July Apple’s “slide to unlock” patent was ruled invalid by a judge in the UK.

Now that Apple has been successful claiming Samsung infringed on their patents, HTC are likely to be next on their list. But Cher Wang, chairperson of HTC, has stated that they have no intention of settling and are prepare to enter into a legal battle with Apple. She went on to add:

HTC has great skills in innovation and has the confidence to face legal lawsuits with Apple. Samsung's loss does not mean the failure of the entire Google Android ecosystem.

Wang added that the Taiwanese market needs to increase its efforts, but believes their future will be better than 2012.

HTC are expected to give at least 3 new models their debuts, including the successors to the HTC One X and the One V.

The company so called Apple is greedy in the way they do business. Samsung, by far what I can see didn't do anything wrong. Nevertheless, Apple was indeed jealous of its rival taken smart phone to the next level; whereas, Apple wanted to that since the company is bit slow in responding to its customers demands. Apple is merely, a name the people come across and acknowledge that "OY!! APPLE", the respect and show off of that particular person goes up.

Samsung and HTC, is by far the best companies in developing smart phones. It wouldn't be shocking news if Apple goes after HTC, because this how businesses make money suing other companies for little things and in return getting more out of it. Nonetheless, as most of us are quite aware of that the mighty USA is popular for copyright law since, they do it themselves. American government and businesses make people around the world believe that they completing following rule and law book, instead is other way around. America creates their own laws and also bound to break them.

The question, how come Apple won the Patent battle against Samsung? Simple, pay the lawyers and law enforcement huge amount of money, the winning streak, is yours. This is not only USA, but every country in this planet. Instead, we should be looking and judging right and wrong, we are favouring wrong by making it right in every way possible, though we know it is wrong and unlawful and this is the world we live in.

I fail to understand this idolization that people have for Apple products,i've owned an IPod and an IPhone and have a friend with an IPad and a Macbook Pro so i've had a lot of experience using Apple products and i fail to see why they are so highly regarded.

I changed my IPod for a Cowon J3 and surprise surprise it was far superior to the IPod,i traded in my IPhone for an HTC One X and again i found it to be a better product than the IPhone.

And as for Macs being superior to pc's well that may have been the case 10 years ago but not anymore,some of the custom built pc's you can get are so much better than any mac.

As for the IPad i'd sooner spend £200 on a half decent tablet than spend the extortionate amount of money Apple want for something that does the same as a cheap android tablet.

Don't forget the 50% mark up apple have,they do love a sucker with money.

The reason Samsung lost was because they had to convince a non-technical dumb American jury and Samsung is not adept at American culture so they tried to convince the jury using science and facts. ROFL no wonder they lost. Really that's the only reason they lost, their lawyers could not articulate their side of the story in a non-technical manner, all Apple had to do was probably appeal to some kinda of patriotism and fool the jury into thinking that buying Apple is the American way of life and boom the case is won. Meanwhile in china, foxconn employees are diving to their deaths as an escape from manufacturing Apple products for 1 cent per day salary.

It was kind of a surprise that the decision only took less than a week between Samsung and Apple. Many thought that it will take a lot longer knowing that the jury are not that technical. For me, it was clearly being a matter of an American company vs. a foreign company being tried in America.

I reckon all these cases should be held in the UK courts - Because we don't have to pick team Apple to win, it's an American company... as '

New Yankee' said, it was an American company vs a foreign company . . . I'm leaning more towards favouritism here rather than who was in the wrong . . . Bring the cases to the UK - No doubt we'll tell Apple to stop being silly and to jog on, because they're a massive company - They don't NEED to sue the smaller companies, they'll always be bigger . . . I would call for Neutral ground court cases. . . I do believe I read somewhere that when this Apple Vs Samsung thing started in court that one of the judges said they thought 'Apple was cooler', This kinda does prove that the whole thing is a load of bull..... Apple is like Hitler.... Kill off everything that isn't 'pure blood' Apple and let the people suffer until they conform.
