nsane.forums
XBMC has just been released for the Android platform. The application is essentially the best open-source media center application which offers a number of customizable options. For those that have never heard of XBMC, it is an open-source multi-platform media player that happens to be well supported with plugins and a whole community of users backing the development, but more recently the project has been introduced to a new community of users. The media center has just been released by XDA Forum Member kemonine96 for the Android platform via two different nightly builds – one for ARM NEON devices and one for devices without those extentions. The picture below shows XBMC working on my HTC One X. The nightly builds are incomplete but stable releases, so there will definitely be some problems until all bugs and issues are resolved. Additionally, the APK itself is huge, which is mainly due to how much the media player packs into itself as a compiled APK.There are many mixed opinions about the application, but there's only way to find out how it runs – XBMC is available from this thread, but remember to look at what nightly supports your device.
