An 11-year-old cheetah named Sarah just established a new world speed record, running 100 meters (0.062 miles) in just 5.95 seconds.

True, this animal might be built for sprinting, but this doesn't mean that its achievement isn't impressive, to say the least. According to official reports, Sarah managed to reach the top speed of 98 kph (61 mph), and pretty much cast a shadow on Usain Bolt's running abilities.

Seeing how this particular cheetah is part of the Cat Ambassador Program run by the Cincinnati Zoo, it is expected that its record-breaking sprint will draw some much needed media attention and help set in motion conservation projects aimed at protecting this endangered species.

From where we stand, this event goes to show that most of the times, when it comes to physical strength, whatever humans do, animals can pretty much do better.

You can see Sarah racing in front of the cameras in the video below.

I wonder if NIKE has approached the cat to do endorsements.

Usain who? Lets face it, 0 to about 20ish in 9 seconds,

Sarah, 0 to 61 in about 2 seconds. A damn Ferrari can't even match that.

Simply put, If you saw this yellowish black blur coming at you...simply reach down

and kiss your butt goodbye. Oh, I guess you gun nuts might get a shot off, sort of

like trying to hit a bullet with another bullet. Me? I will be watching from the tank. :tank:

BTW, someone should give her a gold medal. Need to forward it to the Olympic Committee.
