2na1i5v.pngMicrosoft is officially introduced Windows 7 today at the Professional Developers Conference. There will also be a pre-beta build of the system which will l be available to selected developers by Microsoft. This will be the first developer release of Windows to be API-complete when first delivered. A full featured beta is scheduled to be released in early 2009.

So far looking at the screen shots there doesn’t seem to be much difference from Vista.(Significant changes so far are the explorer, connection manager, and the taskbar) Also there are rumors that it takes less resources than Vista but nothing can be said until a proper release is out. So far it looks like its going to be some thing similar to Vista on visual elements but with a whole new technical change.

Here are the screen shots  ;)

Windows 7 will be based on the Vista core but then allot better.

Lower amount of services, better utilization of power. I even heard it might be modular.

I hope it's the gamers OS they say it will be.

They should have used the XP core since that's so much more stable. Don't you think that would have been a better idea?..... Also, these screenshots remind me of Fedora Core 9. I can't imagine what the people up at Microsoft are thinking when they develop and OS where looks are the top priority.

I think we should say both window 7 and vista based on Longhorn, so new version should not have compatible problem.
