Minor revision, includes unspecific bug fixes and stability improvements

Skype announced a new hotfix for Windows and Mac desktop applications. It is a minor revision that brings no significant modifications to the table.

Actually, the details for the new releases, for both Windows and Mac, are pretty much non-existent, since the changes consist in unspecific bug fixes and stability improvements.

For Mac, the new build is 5.8.0.945 and can be downloaded from here. However, in the case of the Windows edition determining the version number accurately may prove a bit more difficult.

The reason for this is that the info official blog and the details in the “About” section of the application contradict each other.

In the official announcement, the latest Skype build is 5.10.0.115 while the information in the desktop application shows version 5.10.32.115, as you can see in the image below. Regardless of this inconsistency, it is advisable to update to the latest revision in order to benefit from the improvements.

I'm not a skype user but it's very unlikely that the ads will disappear anytime sooner in this visible future. They are only visible in audio calls though, I believe.
