Apple Updates OS X with New RAW Imaging Formats

Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update released via Support / Downloads

Apple has released Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.14, a new software package that adds new RAW imaging to the list of supported formats in OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard.

According to the release notes over at Apple’s Support Downloads area, “this update adds RAW image compatibility for the following cameras to Aperture 3 and iPhoto '11: Canon EOS Rebel T4i / 650D / Kiss X6i; Sony Alpha SLT-A37.”

Owners of either of these two digital cameras will require this software update to take advantage of their hardware inside Apple’s photo-editing and and photo-management apps.
