Gopher
Download links for ESET Smart Security 4.0.474.0 not working for me from here //www.nsanedown.com/?request=6815754Only ESET SS - 4.0.474.0 - x86 and 4.0.474.0 - x64 are not working. Link for either page loads, says DONE...but will not redirect. Blue manual redirect link doesn't work, tried manual copy of trial link without "deferer" and says can't locate file. All other links on that page worked for me. When I tried the free trial download from ESET site, it was giving version 4.0.314. I already have 4.0.437.0I need 4.0.474.0. - x86 for new machine, but will use 437 if I have to.Any help...Thanks

irefay
Anyone else that is using Firefox 3.7 having issues with http://proxy... downloads? At first I thought it was IDM, but I uninstalled it and I am still having problems. Basically all that happens is I end up downloading a file named proxy.php When I open the file up in dreamweaver it is the page I nsane homepage. Most recently, I tried to download the IDM fix. (without having IDM installed)
Administrator DKT27 Posted January 27, 2010 Administrator Share Posted January 27, 2010 Did you try removing this from the link you are trying to download? http://anonymz.com/?
HX1
This has happened to sites with me from versions 1 - 4 with FF.. and other browsers as well.. It is almost as though the site has either gotten exploited or has an error.. Possibly in the configuration of the server.. Try opening the link in a new tab and see if it doesn't work. It usually has something to do with redirects or be directed to another domain from an original one.. Right now and for the past week or so.. even before my upgrade to 3.6.. Software Informer and UpdateStar sites both seem to have an issue of this kind.. but I can open the link in another tab and everything is just fine...It has also been know to do the same with other types of files as well... in fact I used to get have them open in Dreamweaver and even some files for ColdFusion.. So I doubt very much so that you are alone in this.. kind of a mystery to me as well.. BUT I have the theory above.. and one that it may even have to do with registered file types.. irefay
The fix files usually dont have http://anonymz.com/? in the link. I just tested on a few more fixes and I got the same proxy.php downloaded file. I also tried opening link in new tab with the same result. I wonder if lite has any insight? shought
I believe Firefox 3.7 contains some added features amongst which a download 'helper' (or manager). Try turning that off.
irefay
I checked about:config for a download manager/helper. No luck. Ive also been looking on google for a while, nothing there also.
irefay
Found a thread on support.mozilla going to try this when I get back home tonight: " * Clearing your Firefox cookies and cache (press Ctrl+Shift+Del and select them to be cleared) * Resetting your Download Actions: 1. Close Firefox 2. Open the Firefox profile folder - see How to find your profile 3. Delete the mimetypes.rdf file * Checking your Internet security software (this includes antivirus and antispyware programs, firewalls, and more): o In general, open the program's settings, remove Firefox from its "Allow" list, and then let it redetect Firefox. o If your program is listed at the Firewalls article here, or at the Firewalls article at MozillaZine, you can get specific instructions for how to properly reconfigure. Follow them carefully. * Making a new Firefox profile (see Managing profiles). If that works, you can get your bookmarks and passwords into the new profile by following the instructions in the Recovering important data from an old profile article. LeetPirate
You have something blocking empty tabs? Tab Mix Plus perhaps? If yes then enter Tab Mix Plus Options and uncheck the box that says "Prevent blank tabs when downloading files".
irefay
Ok. The issue officially lies with FF 3.7a. I was having a horrible time with it. freezing several times a day, you know normal alpha stuff. Now that I am back to FF 3.6 its smooth sailing. chlorophyll
its better not to choose alpha versions ,betas r somewhat better
irefay
To tell you the truth, I've never had this many problems with an alpha release of Firefox. Its been slow and buggy, but usable. I didn't mind the slowness or the bugs because I knew that my litmus tests and crash logs would make it better. But at this point in the game 3.7a has too much work to be done on it yet for me to use it as my default browser.
