SkyDrive for iOS gets Retina Display update for new iPad

Recommended Posts

iPad and iPhone users of Microsoft's SkyDrive cloud-based data storage service can now download a new version of the SkyDrive iOS app from iTunes. This new update adds quite a few new features to the mix, and owners of the new third generation iPad will be happy to hear that this new SkyDrive version adds support for its Retina Display.

This means that pictures that are uploaded to your SkyDrive account can now be viewed at a much higher resolution than even most PC computer monitors. In addition to the feature made specifically for the new iPad, the new iOS Skydrive app has a number of new features that all iOS devices can use. That includes uploading multiple photos and videos to your Skydrive account along with being able to share your files with anyone via an email link.

There's also some new file management updates with this new iOS version. SkyDrive users can now move, delete, rename, and create new folders in their account with the iPhone and iPad app. Finally, this new version lets users open SkyDrive files from within other iOS apps.

SkyDrive has had a busy week this week. A few days ago, Microsoft released new versions of the Windows and Mac SkyDrive desktop clients. The Windows version includes support for the just released Windows 8 Release Preview build.
