NVIDIA announced that it has received WHQL approvals for Microsoft for a new set of GeForce graphics drivers made specifically for the just released Windows 8 Release Preview to be released next week.

If you have an AMD Radeon graphics card, you might already know that company has released new graphics drivers that have been made specifically for the new Windows 8 Release Preview. But what about that other big PC graphics chip maker, NVIDIA? This week, the company announced it will have its own set of Windows 8 Release Preview drivers but you will have to wait a bit longer to grab them.

In a post on NVIDIA's blog site, the company said that it has received the Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) approvals from Microsoft for its new set of R302 GeForce drivers made specifically for the Windows 8 Release Preview and will offer them for PCs with NVIDIA Geforce graphics chips sometime early next week. The company added, "The WHQL certification of R302 drivers highlights the fact that NVIDIA is in lock-step with Microsoft and is fully prepared for Windows 8."

There's not a lot of details about what will be included in this new driver release but NVIDIA did say it would support its 3D Vision and 3DTV Play features. That means PC monitors and laptops with the correct 3D hardware will be able to support playing PC games and movies in 3D. Keep in mind that these drivers are for PC with Windows 8 Release Preview only; they are not designed for Windows 7, Vista or XP.
