Eset Nod 32 Fix for 3.0? (CONTINUED)

I don't need to avoid one or two product(s) from Norton :fool: ... I will avoid them all ;)

I have used Symantec Client which was quite fast. Ever since they release Professional Version i stop using Norton Products. Until recently i was able to try out some copies of Norton Antivirus 2008. I was ok. besides i am a tech guy in a AV vendoring Area. I can get free keys of Kaspersky and Nod32 if i wanted, lol.

Glad to hear it. I, however, am not going to bother changing what's working perfectly well for me (NDL 9.6) unless and until I have a reason to.

same here...ive been using nodlogin, scheduled to my standards, and has been working perfectly. unless nodlogin's servers r not working for days then ill change

Ditto here. When the problems started and marsu 2.5 stopped working I tried nodlogin 9.6 and don't even notice it working.

Hey people, don`t be so glad ...I have just now installed ESS 3.0.669 and marsu.fix 2.5 and... first manual update took me 15 times clicking on Update. :thumbsdown:

So, at least for me, same bad conditions as before, but not because of the fixes .

Better to stay with NodLogin9.6 or NodEnabler 2.1 (this one just on 32 bits OS, and waiting for v.2.2 that maybe can solve problems found on 64bits).

Did you restart after installing Marsufix? That did the trick for me :thumbsdown: Automatic updates for me now, never manual.

I'm not surprised. I didn't want to say anything negative, but I was highly skeptical that the problems with the evaluation servers have really been resolved.

Not sure if this has been said but when you apply the Masu 2.5 fix it only adds one eval server to get your updates from and this is maybe why we have not been getting updates automaticly or not at all. I've seemed to have solved the update problem by adding a few more eval servers to the update list and letting Nod32 choose automaticly the update servers.

Actually, you only have to add one evaluation server. Then when you update with that evaluation server, NOD32 installs all the other evaluation servers. Although they may not be visible to you, they are there.

Probably not. Everybody knows when we install or uninstall programs should reboot computer. But this time I was in a hurry and as I wasn`t sure, decided to install again ESS 3.0.669 and Marsu-Fix 2.5.

1st. manual update - had to click on Updates just 3 times ( Not bad) . Now I am waiting for the automatic one that surely will not happen on week-ends : I think they close doors at Saturdays and Sundays . The poor guys also deserve some fun ...Servers close doors, ESET close doors and they all go to the beach. Last update was yesterday 15th August (databases 3360).

Next Monday I will give news again.

PS: I didn`t add servers because this is an automatic Fix and if updates fail this way,then something is wrong.

Therefore, it still sounds like the servers are not working correctly, because that should not be necessary and I wouldn't have confidence that will completely solve the problem, although I believe you that it may have improved things at your end.

By the way Jofre: I am up to 3361 already as of this moment.

The ESET updates servers are normal again, of course you won't see the updates immediately, since updates are based on either time, connection or logon. Manual update should work the first time you click, might not work always, but that's just normal.

If you have any real evidence of them not working as of 15th(things considered real evidence: 3 days no updates, no updates after 3 clicks on manual update or an error during the update), then please uninstall your fix, uninstall ESET, delete C:\Program Files\ESET\, run a Registry Cleaner(CCleaner/TU Utilities), reboot, install ESET, install your fix, reboot, press manual update and wait at least one minute before starting to panic about not getting any updates. There you go, updates. If you do get an update the first/second/third time you click manual update the automatic update will most likely work too, so then there is nothing to worry about.

If and only if you did all the above steps and your ESET product still won't update post back here with details.

Tried Marsu-Fix v2.5 and it did not automatically update immediately after computer startup. I've just abandoned it. :wacko:

First you need to appreciate what is done here. If not, then like already said, buy NOD32 and don't use fixes. Second, after installing the fix, first update needs to be done manually. Third, ESET is having some problems with servers so sometimes there is no automatic updates.

Using Box4ever 2.1 with SmartSecurity, it's automatically updated about 3 to 5 times in the last couple of days, right now it's up to 3365.

any clue anyone? restarted few times already
