Why CISPA Sucks

The latest bill to gain attention online is CISPA, or the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act.

As the title suggests the main goal of the bill is to deal with “cybersecurity,” but with a lack of definition as to what that actually entails, it’s also one of the major weaknesses.

In short CISPA would allow companies to spy on Internet users and collect and share this data with third-party companies or Government agencies.

As long as the company states that these privacy violations are needed to protect against “cybersecurity” threats, they are immune from civil and criminal liabilities.

Below is a good overview of what the bill entails. Credit goes to Lumin

It's always in the name of security isn't it? Give up freedom for safety? "He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither." Benjamin Franklin, American Inventor, 1706-1790

So CISPA can share OUR private life information in ANY WAY THEY WANT TO, and also they will not be held responsible for anything, including SELLING OUR INFORMATION FOR PROFIT. If we download a simple song from an album or maybe a whole album and we are being tracked or traced, we can go to prison or face a fine so large that it would be a veteran porn star worried about taking it all in (in other words, we get screwed, BIG TIME). In draconian bills like this, we couldn't even get music to share it without charging a dime and we could have our whole lives RUINED FOREVER.

Corporations have rights ABOVE people now. People are in a battle to REGAIN our basic human rights. What is happening with bills like ACTA, SOPA, CISPA is in all reality, crimes against humanity. Where is justice for the people?

The major corporations who support bills like CISPA can go choke and die on a full grown porcupine which shall be lodged in their throat. Someone quick...make and image of that happening!
