HTC has offered more information about their plans to update a number of their Android based smartphones to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in the very near future.

A few weeks ago, HTC announced some of its plans to update its older Android 2.3 smartphones to the new Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). At the time HTC said the Android 4.0 upgrade would be offered for the HTC Rhyme, the HTC Thunderbolt, the DROID Incredible 2 and the HTC Rezound in the US, along with the HTC Raider in Canada.

Now HTC's blog site has added some additional smartphones that will get the Ice Cream Sandwich update at some point. They include the HTC Amaze, the HTC Desire S, the HTC Desire HD, the HTC EVO 3D, the HTC EVO Design 4G, the HTC Incredible S, the HTC Sensation, the HTC Sensation XL, the HTC Sensation 4G, the HTC Sensation XE and the HTC Vivid.

In addition, the blog site states that Android 4.0 updates are now being rolled out for the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE and will be more widely available for those devices over the next few weeks. The HTC Sensation 4G and HTC Sensation XL smartphones will be the next to get the Ice Cream Sandwich update. As usual, the timing for these upgrades is dependent on both the country and the wireless carriers.
