Windows 8 third party logo contest winner named

Inflow Inventory and Archon Systems have finally named their winner of their third party Windows 8 logo contest where the winner will receive a $300 cash prize.

A few weeks ago, Inflow Inventory and its parent company Archon Systems decided to have some fun. They launched an online contest where they asked the public to submit their own designs for the logo to Windows 8. Microsoft had revealed its official logo design just a few days earlier.

Now the contest is over and the winning logo is the one you see above. The design was created by someone who goes by the handle "Biaggong." In his statement on creating this alternative Windows 8 logo he says:

You can probably tell that I was inspired by the existing metro style interface and the movement of it. I really like how it flows and you can swipe between apps. Swiping between apps looks more fun than it does on iOS, so this is something I really wanted to put an emphasis on. I also liked the traditional colors so I wanted to keep them to be true to the Windows roots.

For his efforts (or her; we don't really know) "Biaggong" will receive a $300 cash prize from Inflow Inventory and Archon Systems, plus the bragging rights that the Windows 8 logo was picked out of over 700 entries. However, the contest is not yet over. Inflow Inventory and Archon Systems will be giving away another $150 prize for the person that creates the most humorous Windows 8 logo among all the entries they received.
