as the title suggests how do I convert a mkv file into a avi one?

can you guys suggest a good converter that supports this extensions?

is there a guide somewhere on how to do it?

I agree with Shought Super is a great program, but for mkv to another container I'll use mkv2vob, it can change the container to avi,mp4,vob...

if you choose not to transcode the file(not to change the encoding just change the container) it will work very fast.

I did have problem with this to as i d/l some music videos from the net but couldn't see 'em ... after a relentless search i came up on an app which works great ... please pm to get link, i'll be happy to help as i am not sure if i can "advertise" on this forum has it has been so long that i been on here.

ok, as you saw i changed the topic title to the proper one.

Now I wanna know how can you extract the contents on a MKV file, i'm asking this because the MKV files i have are dual audio.

And i wanna know how can I break down the MKV file into the video file, audio file, sub file?
