A new report claims to have more information about some new features that are rumored to be added to Microsoft's cloud-based online storage service Skydrive in the near future.

Earlier this past weekend, some rumors got out on the Internet that showed Microsoft might be adding some new features to its cloud-based storage service Skydrive. Specifically, the report claims that Windows and Mac-based Skydrive apps might be in the works, along with adding more storage space for a fee beyond the current 25 GB space for free.

Now, Liveside.net claims via an unnamed source that it has learned of some other upcoming Skydrive features. One is increasing the individual file limit from 100 MB to 300 MB, which should be more competitive than the current limit offered by Skydrive's competitor Dropbox. Yet another new feature is being able to share Skydrive files directly to a Twitter account.

The Windows and Mac Skydrive apps will allow users to remotely access files on a local PC via the cloud service, according to the story. BitLocker recovery keys will be able to be stored and access on a Skydrive account. The update will reportedly add URL shortening support. Finally, the update will add support for OpenDocument files (.odt, .odp, .ods).

So far Microsoft has yet to confirm or deny that these new features will be put in place, nor is there any word on when they will be put in place.
