...to burn pdf's, cbr's, and avi files onto CD and DVD's. No longer have it and was wondering if there is a free software program that is just as easy. Don't edit, crop, or do ANYTHING fancy. Just move off my hard-drive and onto disc. Any suggestions?

1) Do I want "Lite", "Micro" or both?

2) How exactly do I use the Key Gen?

3) What's the difference between Lite/Micro and the full version?

4) Why is it free or is it actually not? :dance:

It is not really free. The keygen makes you able to try it out as long as you want, after which you can decide to buy it, or just to keep using it free of charge. Micro is just the two basic Nero applications: Nero Express and Nero Burning Rom. I think in your case, which is just burning some data discs, you can go for Micro.

You need to install it as follows:

Download Nero Micro

Download Keygen (it's a .rar file, I guess you know how to open those (If you don't; www.7-zip.org)

Open the keygen inside of the .rar file

Open the Nero Micro installer

Click next until it asks you to enter name/serial, copy over the serial from the keygen into the installer, and install as normal

Then just use the app as long as you want.

I visited the Nero Lite website. However, i don't seem to really understand what it meant by lite version though. I use Adobe Reader Lite though, which of course it being able to load very fast, without any annoying message asking you to upgrade, etc.

you can olso try foxit reader (for pdf), small/fast/freeware

nero ultra edition contains alot of features you dont use and which slow down your computer! nero lite has everthing you need to 'BURN', all other crap wont be installed..

Have you tried Ahampoo Burning Studio ?

The 6.5 version of Ahampoo Burning Studio it's now kinda freeware sine you cand get a free serial from their servers as long as for another 26 more appz more info here

. The new version 7x cost money but no big diference and if you register you can upgrade for 9 $ to 7.x series.

It's kinda the old Nero Express 6.0 series so low footprint and does the job right. My Favorite ;)

I have been using Foxit Reader for quite some time now and will not settle for anything else. It is the best PDF reader, and I cannot find any competitor (I do try to find better ones, but nothing even comes close thus far).
