beer
Note: This video was posted by a different source on YoutubeOfficial from NHL.com, Monday 1.23.2012:Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas released the following statement Monday evening regarding his absence from the Bruins' visit to the White House this afternoon:"I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People. This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government.Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL.This is the only public statement I will be making on this topic. TT"(source)
beer
I want to point out that this isn't really about dissing Obama or anything. Tim Thomas was very clear that he is disappointed at US government as a whole (all branches, and all parties). If I were him I wouldn't go neither. beer
what ever you say or whatever you do nothing will ever and never change politicians. they are all power hungry goons. If that was true, then slavery would still be legal in the United States.I don't know if you are from the USA, but I want to point out that these legislative representatives were voted into office by the people, and people have the power to vote them out. If you don't like the one in power then don't vote for them again. Maybe it will take a long time, but eventually maybe some small town representative will emerge or a leader of a protest will campaign for office because he/she is sick of lack of change. What I said might not be the only way, but what i do now is if a citizen does not excercise his/her rights then eventually he/she will have no rights.
