beer Posted January 15, 2012 Share Posted January 15, 2012 Suspect: A man is being held by police in Los Angeles after suspected of poisoning his wife's Rice Krispies cerealA Southern California man has been arrested on suspicion of putting poison in his wife's cereal.Los Angeles County jail records show 43-year-old Fernando Porras of Azusa was being held Saturday on suspicion of the attempted murder of his 51-year-old wife, Fernanda.'She goes ‘something’s in it, something’s in it,’' the woman's 17-year-old daughter, who called police, told CBS Los Angeles.'So I went and picked it up and when I saw what was in the cup, I could smell it and I was like ‘oh my gosh, this is a chemical,'' she said.Police responded to their residence at 8:40 pm bringing the woman to a hospital with the company of her husband.Police grew suspicious of her husband, however, when he said he was going to smoke a cigarette and then disappeared.He was arrested about two miles away.The daughter says her father had fought a drug addiction and has recently become a man she no longer knows.'It’s my dad,' she told CBS. 'It’s hard not think about, you know, why would he do it?'CBS LA reports the chemical placed in her cereal, suspected by Porras, was an all-purpose cleaner called Goof Off.The amount found was great enough to killer her, they report.The woman was released from the hospital Friday in good condition.Porras is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday while held on a $1 million bail.(source) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
