No, There Won’t be a PlayStation 4 at E3

Last week, trade site MCV reported that the PlayStation 4 would make an appearance at this year's E3 in Los Angeles. Sony begs to differ.

Both Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Corp. have come out in denial of the report, with SCE's Andrew House telling CVG "I don't think we're contemplating talking about anything to do with future console iterations at this point."

Sony's Kaz Hirai, meanwhile, said the same thing. "Andy (House) is absolutely right in that we are not making any announcements at E3. I've always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that."

Nintendo's Wii U will obviously be at the June expo, and it's becoming increasingly expected that Microsoft's follow-up to the Xbox 360 will be first revealed there as well. A PS4 presence would have made it one hell of a show, but, well, bummer.

Anyway, while you're here, if you're wondering where the top image came from, it's the work of industrial designer Joseph Dumary, whose Xbox concept we've featured here on Kotaku. You can see more of his PS4 imaginings here.

Game consoles are looking less and less like gaming consoles. Everything is losing it's colors and it's beauty. Games aren't for learning or development primarily anymore, they are for propaganda. If I were to ever create a game system, it's gonna look like an artist spilled all of his paints on top of a block and them wrote on top of it. I'm sick of plain old gaming systems...and their stupid propaganda shooting games.

One other thing. Have you noticed that pretty much EVERY computer for sale, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc. they are all either black or very dark and dreary. For people who spend the majority of their time on computers, being surrounded by dark colors constantly plays havoc on ones mind. Computers USE to be lighter colors and a bit more roomy and pleasant to the eyes but the mental effect that all dark computer components have on the mind is not a very good one. A constant dark environment causes depression and can even be attributed to the formation of bad habits.

But on topic....I still have yet to get a PS3.

Consoles have chips installed by the CIA which send subliminal messages to your brain and encourage you to do evil things.

Some of the above maybe false but lets not get in the way of an agenda or completely ridiculous paranoia.

Well actually that's sort of correct. All new TV's have a flicker rate that put your brain into and ALPHA state (like a dream state almost) where your mind become MANY times more liable to be programmed and open for suggestive ideal implementations. So in some ways, it's sort of like subliminal messages but it's more sophisticated than simple subliminal messages.
