That's because Amazon doesn't have offices in the state of California.Pro-tax politicians want to change this by allowing California to force Amazon to collect and submit sales taxes--and they may have found an ally in a U.S. Congress that's controlled by Democrats. Full Article18 states illegal have a treaty like law that makes online sites collect user tax. ei sales states. its illegal but you cant fight it. the reason why is just like a normal store, an online siste gets to kep some of the sales taxes for doing that job of collecting it. btw when they talk about internet tax it can mean different things. internet tax as in access to the internet. there are some states that have grandfather laws that allows they to tax that why. (strong democrat states of course) then you have sales tax on the service and slaes tax on the items you buy. there needs to be a 100% ban on online taxes incuding access, fee and sales. also no company should pay income taxes. that is why usa is in trouble.
