dock98
Yahoo So Desperate To Stay Away From Microsoft, It's Starting To Use Google Adsfrom the now-that's-desperation deptLast summer there was speculation that a bold step for Yahoo to take to revive its sagging prospects would be to ditch its own ad system and outsource it to Google. Despite Yahoo trying to catch up for many years, Google's ad system just works much, much better. It would save Yahoo a ton of money and probably create better returns -- even if it would help fuel Google too. However, Yahoo pretty much laughed off the suggestion... until now. Being aggressively pursued by Microsoft can have that effect -- especially as white knight rescuers seem few and far between (i.e., they don't seem to exist at all). So, with that, the news is breaking that Yahoo is finally going to test running Google's ads. It's a "small scale" test, only running for a couple weeks and only on a small percentage (less than 3%) of Yahoo's inventory. But, assuming it goes well, it'll likely lead to a much bigger shift. Of course, Microsoft was quick to denounce the deal, claiming that the Justice Department would have a field day over the antitrust issues raised, but so far Microsoft doesn't have such a great track record in getting the DOJ to act on its antitrust complaints. irefay
Why are you so happy to see yahoo go? I don't use any of their services, but I hate to see Microsoft continue to try and take over everything. Microsoft has failed at creating even a moderately successful search engine of there own (even when they control almost all the variables - search in windows) What makes you think the world is going to be any better with Microsoft buying out Yahoo? Marik
Why are you so happy to see yahoo go?Well gee, thats quite simple from where I'm standing :rolleyes:you see, there are three types of ppl from where I come:#1. The type who spend almost all of their time on yahoo messenger, trying to impress girls into getting a **** and stuff like that#2. The type who like to spam the living **** out of other ppl with their pathetic bs#3. These type of ppl like to visit hi5 all day long, try to get the id's of girls, are the type which say that if you don't have a ym id you don't have a life, believe that ym is the only way of life... like the emo style, and dress accordingly (they piss me off the most)so I short terms, HELL YEAH!I can't wait to see their faces when M$ will pull the plug on YMI don't use any of their services, but I hate to see Microsoft continue to try and take over everything.Heck, I don't use their service because it stinks so much, I can't find a single thing with it (Google FTW).And I would hate to see M$ control everything, but would very much like to see how M$ will bring yahoo to it's kneesMicrosoft has failed at creating even a moderately successful search engine of there own (even when they control almost all the variables - search in windows).Well M$ fails at creating anything :lmao:, their search engine, well it just sucks. What makes you think the world is going to be any better with Microsoft buying out Yahoo? It won't make the world a better place :lmao: since M$ has the tendency to screw things up.This just goes with what I said in part 1 :doctor:
Lammster
Never was a fan of either of them. As I see it, its just one heartless, crappy conglomerate taking over another one. This could be better for both of them or a huge waste of money and resources for Microsoft. One way or another, it matters about this much to me. --> |--|
