beer
Dec. 28, 2011 -- Siku, a polar bear cub born in captivity in Denmark, has taken the Internet by storm. It's not a surprise, he's so cute! When Siku was born at the Scandinavian Wildlife Park November 22, 2011 his mother had not produced milk for three years."Instead of leaving the cub to die we decided to try to bottle feed it," according to the website for the Park. Siku is comfortable around humans and is feeding from a bottle. The site informs visitors Siku weighs just over seven pounds as of December 22, and is "thriving!!!!!" (the emphasis is theirs)."Siku, means 'sea ice' in Greenlandic language," according to the Wildlife Park. the name was chosen because the polar bear is dependent on sea ice to live. The park hopes Siku will raise awareness to the destruction of the polar habitat as global climate change melts the sea ice.The Scandinavian Wildlife Park is developing a new information program about climate change, sea ice in the Arctic Sea and polar bears. As the program evolves, Siku "will become an Ambassador for his wild cousins living in the Arctic," continued the site, "Because the Scandinavian Wildlife Park has some of the best and largest polar bear facilities in the world, we are convinced that it will be possible for SIKU to become a normal functioning polar bear within a few years."(source)I think this article has cancelled out all of the evil news and people I have witness this whole month (maybe even the whole year). Siku
