In a cunning bid to remind the adult world of its long-lost childhood, in which even the most vacuous fictional characters could somehow seem magical, Hasbro has suddenly decided to sue ASUS over its 'Transformer Prime' branding. It doesn't matter that the Transformer Prime really does transform -- you know, in real-life -- or that it exists in a non-competing market, or that the latest Transformers movie was a complete waste of everybody's time. Nope, Hasbro still feels the need to "aggressively protect its brands and products" from illusory enemies, and it's fully prepared to threaten ASUS with a sales injunction until some sort of conciliatory gesture appears on its bank statement. If this lawsuit takes hold -- please, not another Düsseldorf -- then we promise that our future children will never buy, watch or touch a single Hasbro product. Except maybe that R2-D2 version of Operation, which is pretty sweet.

lol this is just like the story of when ferrari names their 2011 F1 car the same name as a ford pickup truck.

Ford is not letting Ferrari get away with using the F150 name for its latest Formula 1 car. The American carmaker has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the Italian team.

"F-150 is an established and important Ford trademark and the name of the best-seller in Ford's F-Series, America's best-selling trucks for 34 years and best-selling vehicles for 29 years," Ford said in a statement posted by

PickupTrucks.com. "Through extensive sales and advertising and exclusive use, Ford has earned invaluable goodwill in the F-150 trademark. That hard-won goodwill is seriously threatened by Ferrari’s adoption of 'F150.'"

According to the report, Ford asked Ferrari to change the name of its 2011 Formula 1 contender when the race car was revealed last week. When Ferrari did not respond to the request, Ford had "no choice but to take legal action to protect its important brand and trademark rights."

Ferrari named its Formula 1 car as F150 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy.

Completely outrageous
