Microsoft: Windows XP SP3 RTM?

I have perusing the Microsoft website today and I came across this interesting page regarding XP's support life cycle

The page states General Availability Date of XP SP3 is 31/03/2008 meaning it may well have RTM'd already but the software giant has not made an official public announcement.

With rumours that Microsoft has delayed XP SP3 to encourage sales of Vista we'd hope to see Microsoft give an official response to this as soon as possible.

There also has been a release from Microsoft that has also been posted, a Windows XP Service Pack 3 Overview white-paper.

Microsoft has confirmed that the final version of Windows XP SP3 is still on target to be released the first half of calendar year 2008 but has refused to confirm an RTM date.

I surely hope so, we XP Users have been waiting a long long while on this and they just keep delaying it.

On the page that says RTM being March 31, also note the time the page was last updated: May 4, 2005

@cooldude7273:

you don't exactly need to update the whole page if you're just gonna change 2-3 lines

I will NEVER buy Vista. XP Rocks.

You say so now, if you only have like 5 years more to live(which i hope you don't) then you're most likely true, but since i think this is not the case you probably will upgrade to Vista some time...

Its not just a matter of time. People should say *no* to the last OS as many changes in it does not necessarily represent evolution, and they have already done that in the past, with, for instance, Windows ME.

We all say now that we never will buy Vista.

But a few years ago we all said we will all stick to our Windows 98 or 2000.

I might use Vista on a new pc when it has service pack 2.

But for now, I just will stick to my XP.

I declare that I never will buy Windows Vista, never..... :dance2:

PS: Well, really I never buy my actual Windows XP either :rolleyes:
