SOPA Sponsors Break Their Own Law

Here’s a classic.

Remember how the Stop Online Piracy Act would make streaming of copyrighted material a felony?

How it could lead to a 5 year jail sentence?

Well it turns out that the sponsors of the bill aren’t too worried about this prospect.

As dkesh notes on Reddit, many of these lawmakers actually stream copyrighted videos on their websites.

Hypocrites?

Without going into detail whether fair use would apply, or if there’s another loophole through which they could be allowed to do this, I can only conclude that this is just plain stupid .

The worst part is that it shows you that the people who can sign this bill into law have absolutely no idea what they are doing.

Unbelievable.

That's the main problem. The people making the decisions have no idea what it entails, who or what it will affect. Make them aware people <_<

Or maybe they just don't give a damn, maybe when its all said and done they're above the law and bought out, and don't give a crap how much it will screw everyone except for the media companies.

One said, "Copyright will fail with out this". If this is what is needed copyright doesn't need to fail, it needs to be burned law by law. Absolutely nothing justifies censorship and we can't give the companies more power than the DMCA (they have enough), not to mention the already oversized and broke US government will rack up the debt even further to play copyright police for a bunch of companies who produce nothing of value, simply claim ownership of IP of those who do for some fake ass representation.

... and people wonder where all the money goes, and why everything is all screwed up.
