Below is a quick summary of Microsofts new Office Live Workspace by one of our members, GeeQ. Its an online version of their popular office suite, he was invited to the currently private beta and gives his opinion on the service.

Today I checked my hotmail account and i found a letter from Microsoft. They chose me as a beta tester for Office Live Workspace. So I completed my registration.

The first impression was a clean and user-friendly interface for OLW. It has a well organized webpage. But the functions... At the moment OLW seems to be able to only store and view your documents you put online. After downloading the Add-in for Office (desktop) you'll be able to open/edit/save you docs from/to Live Workspace from your internet connected desk/laptop. You can even synchronize your contact list from Outlook, add tasks, events, lists and notes. To print your online viewed documents you need to go through a bit complicated process.

All together, google's similar apps are a bit better but Office is on a right path I think. If they add basic editing functions to OWL it can easily win over google's.
