The new digital mapping service proposed by Microsoft, Virtual Earth, has also the solution for “wiping” Apple off the map.

Perhaps

the complete wipe out of Apple’s facilities might seem like a pretty good joke to some, but the reaction of those who used Microsoft’s service to find Apple’s headquarters was completely different. Instead of the 11 high-tech buildings, Virtual Earth presents only a miniaturized image of just one building that looks like a simple warehouse or a parking lot.

Microsoft said that this is the result of the old images included in the database. However, if the user requests the same information through Google’s mapping service (which uses the same satellite images), the result is much more accurate.

The representatives of the Redmond company said that the service is still being tested and that it still has many black and white images, which were taken in 1991. Despite their statements, the images in question have copyright symbols from 2004 and 2005 on them.

Now I have no idea y M$ would do that ??? :P
