dock98
From Day 1 of the Wii's launch there have been reports of gamers becoming a little too excited and releasing their grip on the Wii Remote during play as they watch it cannon into their new Plasma or LCD TV. Panasonic are looking to make this a thing of the past (although you'll still have to look out for human heads and lamps which are common culprits of Wii related injuries) with their new Wii Remote Proof plasma. The Plasma TV will be able to absorb up to 4 Joules of Kinetic energy thanks to a transparent coating sprayed on the screen, a Joule is the energy expended by the force of one Newton moving one metre. It would seem that Panasonic haven't been told that the Wii comes with a wrist strap and the new Wii Remote Jacket to avoid it coming out of the hand and avoid damage in the first place. Still its good to know that you have to option of taking your Wii safety to the next level. No pricing or availability dates have been confirmed at this stage.
