Stigmatic
Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP) is the best codec pack.It should work with everything, except Quicktime and Real. But for this you should use the Quicktime alternative and Real Alternative anyway. It includes 2 players to choose from:Media Player ClassicZoom PlayerIf you feel like using the Windows Media Player, there's nothing wrong with that. But my personal choice is MPC, easy and clean. And you can get it here. gigabyte89
K-lite Mega is the best!Has both Real & quicktime
Jman123
For watching anime, cccp is the best codec pack.
Stigmatic
Last time I tested klite some things wasn't working properly for me, and CCCP has always worked great for me. So I have stuck with that.I'm not quite sure how you want to compare, but I'll list some differences:K-Lite have more codecs, which ultimately just does the same and use more space.CCCP install without players is 11MB.K-Lite install without player is 35MBish.Some of the stuff in K-Lite is :) if you care about that :) like CoreAVC and Real I think. This is also the reason QT and Real is not in the CCCP. inoesomestuff
ive posted about CCCP before, i didnt know they had a new releaseMarik - you will know the difference when uninstalling, K-lite (when i used it) left A LOT of stuff in the registry, maybe you should try it? It also puts in many codecs under the thinking that at least one of them will be the right one. from CCCP websiteWhy your should use CCCP instead of K-LiteK-Lite Codec Pack comes in several different flavours. From basic (small) to mega (large). Most people use the larger versions of the pack. These packs install a LOT of things. Most of which you probably don't need. The more codecs and filters you have installed on your computer, the more likely they will conflict.CCCP has been designed as a small, yet powerful pack, for playback only. It allows you to play all common audio and video formats that are used in and outside the anime scene.
irefay
Both have Media Player Classic which is released under GPL. As far as features and use they are very similar- deployment, gui, and setup are different as eluded to by Stigmatic and inoesomestuff. So basically: they are packaged with many of the same components, CCCP has a better uninstaller and smaller disk space footprint. Memory usage is identical for Media Player Classic (they both have the same release in their current package). Its kind of like the Nod32 KAV rivalry. Both have their perspective strengths and weaknesses but when it comes down to it, its really about what you, the end user, prefer.
Stigmatic
Thanks inoesomestuff, I knew they had a coment about that somewhere. But irefay is sort of right, so to say it a different way K-Lite is sort of "overkill".But to each their own  I still prefer CCCP. Samurai
K-Lite install without player is 35MBish.Incorrect. None of the K-Lite codec packs produced are that large.K-Lite Mega at the most is 17MB. It's basically the K-Lite Full but also includes Real Alternative.K-Lite Full is 13.5MB.In any case you're given the option of what to install, and what not to upon installation. In most cases you probably wouldn't need anything more than 10MB of disk space.
mjall
yeah both are good, depends what you want to use, i personally don't use any of real extensions......so i would know what to install etc....
Stigmatic
You might be right Samurai.By size I ment installed size, and for K-Lite I went by the install profiles that says how much space you need. And these profiles says something from 20-40 MB needed, and everything deselected is 11,7MB.So anyway I look at it K-Lite needs more space. HATE9X
I used to always install the mega pack, but now standard k-lite pack, prefer it to cccp anytime.. (mainly because of the filetype icons.. :dance2: )
