It's a nightmare scenario for Microsoft. The headlining feature of its new Copilot+ PC initiative, which is supposed to drive millions of PC sales over the next couple of years, is under significant fire for being what many say is a major breach of privacy and security on Windows. That feature in question is Windows Recall, a new AI tool designed to remember everything you do on Windows.

Windows Recall is a new AI tool built-in to Windows 11 Copilot+ PCs that remembers everything you do on your computer. It enables the ability to semantically search for anything you've ever seen or done on your PC using natural language, and utilizes the neural processing unit (NPU) to process that information locally on device.

This week at Computex 2024, both AMD and Intel unveiled new processor lineups. While Team Blue detailed why it killed hyper threading and also explained how it was getting the Windows performance optimization with the help of Thread Director technology.

While Windows 11 currently has four Insider channels for testing: Canary, Dev, Beta, and Release Preview, there is only one for Windows 10, which is the Release Preview. However, Microsoft is adding one more channel for additional testing before a wider release of certain features. As such, a new Beta channel for Windows 10 is making its debut today.

Microsoft has rolled out a new update for the Edge browser in the Stable Channel. Version 125.0.2535.85 is now available with fixes for seven Chromium vulnerabilities of high severity. This is a security-only update, and it does not contain any new features or notable changes.

Late on Wednesday, Microsoft released the regular monthly non-security preview update for Windows 11 22H2 and 23H2. The build numbers for the updates were 22621.3672 and 22631.3672, under KB5037853.
 
When the updates dropped, Microsoft's changelog stated, "Microsoft is not currently aware of any issues with this update." However, since then some people who have installed the updates have reported issues with using the taskbar, including reports of it disappearing.

About a week ago, Microsoft started rolling out Windows 11 version 24H2 to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel, giving them access to the latest features and improvements, including new AI-based stuff, such as Recall. However, the update is rolling out gradually, which means some users may not get Windows 11 24H2 right now. Microsoft has updated the official release notes to clarify that and offered a workaround.
