Here’s how much GTA VI will cost at launch
Rockstar Games has revealed official pricing information about Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders.
Pre-orders will start on June 25th, and Rockstar has confirmed that physical copies of the game will be “a download code in a box”.
Boxed copies of the game will begin shipping on November 12th, one week before the game’s launch.
GTA VI will be released on November 19th 2026. At launch, the game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The game will cost $79.99 in the US, though a more expensive “Ultimate Edition” will be available for $99.99.
The “Ultimate Edition” of GTA VI will include an “exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story”.
GTA VI will not be playable without an internet connection
With Grand Theft Auto VI’s physical edition being a “code in a box” release, all versions of the game will require an internet connection to play.
Owners of physical copies will need to download the full game, just like digital owners. Pre-loading for the game will start on November 12th.
Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI pricing is high, as expected.
That said, it isn’t trend-setting. Publishers have already released $80 games, with Nintendo being among the first.
Sadly, Rockstar has not unveiled its UK prices, despite the fact that the game’s head studio is British. We will learn what the UK’s pre-order prices are when pre-orders start later this week.
