At Computex today, as the company had promised, Nvidia has announced its newest GeForce RTX offerings, the RTX 3080 Ti and the RTX 3070 Ti GPUs. The former will be available to purchase worldwide in a couple of days on June 3 and it is priced at $1,199, which is 20% higher than what rumors had earlier suggested.
For this asking price, the new RTX 3080 Ti, Nvidia says, delivers twice the performance of the GTX 1080 Ti even in traditional rasterization situations. The gap naturally extends further when newer technologies like DLSS or real-time ray tracing are added into the mix.
Moving on, the 3080 Ti's smaller sibling the RTX 3070 Ti is a much more affordable product coming in for half the price of the former at $599. It will be available for purchase next week. Similar to the performance claims of the 3080 Ti, Nvidia says that the new RTX 3070 Ti offers double the performance of the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti. It is also said to offer around 50% more performance than the RTX 2070 SUPER.
In terms of cooling, both the RTX 3080 Ti and the 3070 Ti seem to be equipped with the same cooler design that came with the RTX 3090 and the RTX 3080. Both the coolers are 2-slot wide. The hardware specifications of the two new GPUs are given below:
