Path of Exile 2 players will be happy to know that the long-reported freezing issue that has been affecting the hit ARPG is finally being fixed.

Nvidia released its most recent GeForce Game Ready driver for its gaming customers less than a week ago, but already, a hotfix has landed. This is aiming at fixing a problem that is affecting the upcoming Halo remake as well as an infamous freezing issue in Path of Exile 2.

On the Halo: Campaign Evolved side, Nvidia simply says that stability issues were the target of this hotfix, which were being seen by 610.xx drivers on RTX 50-series graphics cards. If you're looking to jump into the new Xbox game at launch and have a latest-generation Nvidia GPU, it may be a good idea to install this driver beforehand.

At the same time, Path of Exile 2 players will be happy to know that the long-reported freezing issue that has been affecting the hit ARPG is finally being fixed with this driver. Considering the issue only pops up when you're in the middle of a long play session, it might take a while for you to test Nvidia's claims.

Here are all the changes in the July 22-released 610.82 Hotfix driver:

    • [Halo: Campaign Evolved] Stability issues on GeForce RTX 50 series when using 610.xx drivers. [6259837]
    • [Path of Exile 2] Fixed intermittent long pauses that could occur after extended gameplay sessions in DX12 mode [5090018]

The Nvidia 610.82 hotfix driver can now be downloaded from Nvidia's own Support portal. The driver is supported on Windows 10 and Windows 11 64-bit versions. These drivers land as optional installations for users that may want to jump in on these fixes immediately. If you're willing to wait, the changes of hotfix drivers are all lumped into the next Game Ready release, usually as well.

If you're looking for the most recent WHQL-certified Game Ready driver, which was version 610.74, head over here.
