The new Intel Bluetooth and Wi-Fi drivers promise to follow Microsoft's commitment to improve Windows 11's quality.
Microsoft has been making an active effort to improve the Windows 11 user experience as key elements of the OS are getting faster, and upcoming versions like 26H2 are also expected to bring many of the long-requested features like disabled web search results and better graphics driver crash management.
However, it is far from flawless as earlier this week the tech giant acknowledged how a default OS feature is hogging up the storage while a change added last year broke a key legacy component. Regardless, the tech giant seems proud of its achievements as highlighted back in April.
Intel is now joining Microsoft as it has announced new Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers that are set to be aligned with the latter's commitment to improving Windows. While there are no specific details about it the idea is to improve the performance and the overall user experience in line with Microsoft's commitment.
Intel says the new driver brings improved 6GHz performance and better overall stability, but it also notes that not every driver feature and improvement may be listed. The full changelog is given below:
- Starting with 24.50.0, Intel wireless Wi-Fi drivers integrate enhancements aligned with Microsoft’s Windows ecosystem quality initiative to optimize performance and user experience.
- This release and future versions support the new product Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX231.
- Updated regional regulatory compliance and support. Win10/Win11 Improved 6GHz Wi-Fi performance.
- Enhanced Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth coexistence and Bluetooth stability.
- This software version 24.50.0 has been updated to include functional and security updates. There may be other minor issues addressed which will impact performance, stability, or vendor specific functionality not listed above.
