Coming out as AMD's first graphics driver launch of the year is the Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.1.1 release. The driver is bringing support for two soon-launching PC ports of rather huge games: Sony Santa Monica Studio's God of War and Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise.
AMD doesn't go into detail on the Monster Hunter Rise improvements, but does detail impressive gains on God of War. With the latest driver, AMD saw up to a 7% increase in performance in its testing compared to the previous driver 21.12.1. The test systems were using RX 6900 XT, 6800 XT, and RX 6700 XT graphics cards and a Ryzen 9 5900X CPU, with the game running at 4K using the Ultra preset.
Monster Hunter Rise launches later today, January 12, while God of War has a January 14 launch attached to it. This driver is a recommended install for both games.
Meanwhile, several bugs have been squashed in this driver release too:
- Connecting multiple monitors with high display bandwidths and differences in vertical intervals to a system may lead to high idle memory clock values being experienced by some users.
- After upgrading to the latest Radeon™ Software, the Power Tuning component of a saved tuning profile may not load correctly when a user imports a previously saved tuning profile.
- When some users zoom-in during Halo Infinite™ gameplay, they may experience visual corruption on some AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon® RX 5600 XT Graphics.
- Flickering may be observed when playing Fortnite™ on some AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon® RX 6800 XT Graphics using DirectX® 12 with Radeon™ Boost enabled.
Here are the known issues:
- Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.
- Radeon performance metrics and logging features may intermittently report extremely high and incorrect memory clock values.
- While playing Borderlands 3™ using DirectX® 12 with Radeon™ Boost enabled, longer than expected load times may be observed on some AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon® RX 6800 XT Graphics.
The Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.1.1 driver is available for Windows 10 and Windows 11, and can be found on the Radeon Settings app in the Optional section. A standalone download link is listed on the official release notes page here.
