The iPhone Air lived up to Apple's expectations when interviewers tried to bend the ultra-thin device, but that doesn't rule out the chances of damage when customers start using it as a daily driver. Apple is now selling a maxed-out iPhone for a whopping $2,000, making it even more important to get an idea about its repair costs.

Well, now you can get an idea of how big a whole it would burn in your pocket if you accidentally crack your iPhone Air's screen or need a battery replacement for your iPhone 17 Pro. Apple has updated the price estimation tool on its iPhone Repair and Service webpage to include different repair costs for the latest iPhone models.

Here's an overview of the different out-of-warranty repair costs for various iPhone models as seen on Apple's website:

Note: Apple might revise these costs at a later point in time.

Service Type iPhone Air iPhone 17 iPhone 17 Pro iPhone 17 Pro Max
    Cracked screen (front) $329 $329 $329 $379
    Back glass damage $159 $159 $159 $159
    Cracked screen + back glass $419 $419 $419 $469
    Battery $119 $99 $119 $119
    Rear camera $169 $169 $249 $249
    Other damage $699 $599 $749 $799

For comparison, these are the respective costs for the iPhone 16 series:

Service Type iPhone 16e iPhone 16 iPhone 16 Pro iPhone 16 Pro Max
    Cracked screen (front) $229 $279 $329 $379
    Back glass damage $159 $159 $159 $159
    Cracked screen + back glass $319 $369 $419 $469
    Battery $99 $99 $119 $119
    Rear camera $129 $169 $249 $249
    Other damage $449 $549 $649 $749

Apple is still charging the same amount for out-of-warranty battery replacements, but wants extra dollars for service types such as 'Other damage.' You'll have to pay considerably less if you have purchased an AppleCare+ or AppleCare One with these devices.

For instance, Apple charges $0 service fee for battery replacement if its capacity drops below 80% while your AppleCare plan is still active. The company charges a per-incident service fee of $29 for screen or back glass damage, $99 for other accidental damage, and $149 for theft or loss.

While AppleCare+ applies to only one device, the recently launched AppleCare One gives you a single payment option to secure multiple devices, including new ones and those you already own (if they are eligible).

Apple is taking pre-orders for the iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air, and the devices will start shipping on September 19.
