Beta 3 for iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 brings more Apple Intelligence features across the system, fixes known issues, and brings new ones.
Apple has released iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 Beta 3 (build 24A5380h) to registered developers. The new update arrives two weeks after the second beta, and continues to refine Apple’s upcoming operating systems, which are set to arrive this fall.
If you want to download the latest beta, go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates, then choose iOS 27 Developer Beta. You can download iOS betas on more than 30 supported iPhones.
This beta brings a fix for one of the more serious bugs floating around in earlier builds. Devices with a deeply discharged battery were getting stuck on the red dead battery icon indefinitely. Testers would need to reboot their devices or unplug and replug the charger to recover. That’s resolved now.
When it comes to new features, Beta 3 continues to integrate Apple Intelligence across the OS. New features have landed in Photos, Safari, Shortcuts, Wallet, and Passwords, and Apple has also introduced a standalone Siri app that keeps a history of your conversations.
Write with Siri is now available system-wide, so you can draft a few lines from almost anywhere. Visual Intelligence now lives inside the Camera app, and Dictation gets a new on-device model, which should improve its accuracy. Besides these, the new beta brings dozens of new smaller updates and improvements.
As usual with Beta updates, this one carries an extensive list of known issues, as well. As Siri is getting the biggest overhaul in iOS 27, it also carries the most issues in betas. Developers installing Beta 3 will have to deal with everything from misidentifying contacts with similar names, to slower response times in CarPlay under heavy load or poor signal.
Along with betas for iOS and iPadOS, Apple has also released new betas for other products, including macOS 27 Golden Gate, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27.
