ROMANTICGUY50
I have avast antivirus on my computer. The only version that works for me is 6.0.1000. All the others after that one cause my computer to keep rebooting over and over. I don't have any idea why. Does any one have any suggestions what could be causing the problem and how to fix it-Thanx.
HX1
I would check their site and look for proper removal guide and tool for the version of OS and Program .. then follow each thing step by step.. do several reboots after removal.. Then after cleaning your registry.. attempt an installation.. and see how it goes.. Sounds like a driver issue.. could be jacked into the Network drivers in some way.. and not removing it properly or something else.. very odd.. majithia23
yes thats right . just uninstall this version , clean the system and proceed with a new clean install .here --- Official Avast Uninstall Tool .download it . reboot in safe mode , locate the downloaded tool , run it and let it identify the installed version of Avast product on your system .if it doesnt , dont worry , just manually enter the path of the installed location .just be sure to let it enter the correct the installed folder of Avast as it would erase everything it finds in that folder and also its associated content .. most likely it will automatically identify it ..when it says done , just reboot .now clean up your system with any system cleaner you prefer , esp clearing out any in valid registry keys .restart the system , download the untouched new installer for the latest version and let it run .just make sure to temporarily shut down any system monitoring security feature while it installs .after completion , reboot and wait ...hopefully it should run fine now ... :)
ROMANTICGUY50
Tried all that. When the computer started I got the XP version (Blue Screen) version of death. I tried twice and gave up and removed it. When I restated it got a serious error message. Yuck and a bummer too.In the end I had to put Avast 6.0.1000 back in my computer cause none of the other versions would work on my computer for whatever strange reason.
