What ?....another update so soon after 6.0.1 ? :eekout:

Can't the Mozilla community decide their fixes before releasing these updates ? :think:

it would be better if they (and the other browser makers as well) switched to a Microsoft-like schedule, e.g. Microsoft issues all its hotfixes on the second Tuesday of each month, we could have Firefox on the first Tuesday, chrome on the third Tuesday, opera on the fourth etc. and no releases in between. that would ease the headaches they give us users with their constant random releases

@johndoe

what if a 0-day bug is found and it gets resolved; you'd rather we wait a month for a new version to get released and leave you exposed in the meantime? is it REALLY that inconvenient to upgrade your browser?

I think this is some sort of emergency update like 6.0.1. It's not a scheduled update from what I can tell. Firefox will release a major version every six weeks (1 month + 2 weeks). They wouldn't have released it if it wasn't necessary. :)

i was referring to their recent rapid releases. even microsoft releases urgent out of band patches for 0-days bugs... i thought that part was obvious... apparently not :P

We're revoking trust for SSL certificates issued by DigiNotar-controlled intermediate CAs used by the Dutch PKIoverheid program. For more details about the security issues see the Google Security Blog post about DigiNotar and an update from Mozilla, who is also moving to revoke trust in these certificates.

this is for Google Chrome 13.0.782.220 but they working on the same problem which is DigiNotar

Firefox 6.0.1

Earlier this week we revoked our trust in the DigiNotar certificate authority from all Mozilla software.

Firefox 6.0.2

This is not a temporary suspension, it is a complete removal from our trusted root program. Complete revocation of trust is a decision we treat with careful consideration, and employ as a last resort.

the build is perfect.

auto update feature & the web site gets rolled out slowly.

these guys know what they are doing. no need to question files that come straight from the front door of the sites. "FTP"
