Limit Bandwidth Usage

Hey!

I was just wanting to know if there's any software that could limit bandwidth for users on home network. The problem is sometimes my siblings are download, streaming videos, and I'm hardly able to view any websites and I end up blocking them off the network with MAC filtering. So I just wanted to know if there's any software which will limit the internet speed, like if the download speed is: 300KB /sec, I want to equally distribute the bandwidth among the users, i.e 100KB /user, so no user is interrupted. Can anyone help me?

I think you can do that with Wireless Capping thingy in your router.

Bandwidth Controller Enterprise may be a good option.. but you will have to look into it.. and it may require reconfiguring your network in a way that they connect differently.. NetCut is an oldie but could be of interest as well..

You can try this

its gave me sometime like 1 sec stuck / glitch effect occasional in my win 7 x64 , but maybe it work fine for you , just be aware of this issue (took me some time to point it as the problem )

I don't have it in my router software, that's the reason I've request if there's any third-party software to do it.

I've downloaded and installed Bandwidth Controller Enterprise, it doesn't support Windows 7; I installed it in compatibility mode XP SP3, but still didn't work. NetCut doesn't have what I need :(

It's not what I need. I need something to manage all the computer on the home network, and it doesn't do that and it requires it to be installed on every computer which isn't what I want.

Use a firmware that provides QoS.

I'm no expert it in, but if you are looking at it on the software level, cFosSpeed may help you limiting the speed.

Yes, I want it at a software level, and cFosSpeed is good, but I want to be able to manage and limit all the users on the home network.

My router isn't listed on DD-WRT Compatibility list, so I can't use it.

Try here ( ? ) :-

I've looked into it, but is there a way to limit the overall bandwidth usage of the computer, and not just of a specific app? And also is there a way to hide, or password protect the settings so they may not be altered?

How about googling ... « Bandwidth management » ?

I've been googling that all day long, and in fact I still am to this very moment, but with no success.
