liquid
Hi, I've been Eset' NOD32 for over 6 months now and surf the net everyday. Granted its a great antivirus, very fast and relatively light on resources... you hardly notice it is there. The problem is during those 6 months I have one maybe two viruses, MAX. What I'm wondering is it worth the extra effort of sticking with NOD32 for a light user that comes across a virus on average once every 3 months? Wouldnt Avast and/or Avira etc have these in their database anyway even though they don't have such an enviable track record? Dont say AVG because their interface is just ugly :)
geko
Well, I was a nod32 user and as you say, eventually some malware got in. How do I know this? Because I used other AV for on demand scanning. Got to work and started to inform myself of all AV's in the market... My decision was to change to AntiVir.
Atasas
None are 100% proof, so yah, time after time change dont do harm or additional malware scan, or as mentioned before on demand scan...
drameet
None are 100% proof, so yah, time after time change dont do harm or additional malware scan, or as mentioned before on demand scan...yeah none can give u 100 percent protection so why not use one which doesnt tax ur resources. As regarding detection if u put NOD on struct cleaning it will detect everyother thing as a virus but we dont need that!! I have used them all n find NOD the best!! u have to use other defense mechanics like not surfying the internet on a administrator account but using a limite account etc etc :)
