toyo
Media Player Classic is a rewriten version of Windows Media Player 6 which was then open sourced and released under the GNU GPL. The interface is similar to the MS original but is a little more up-to-date, XP friendly, comes with some more advanced features, and doesn’t have the annoyances of the original. But probably the best thing about this player is the range of formats it supports. It’ll play just about anything you throw at it, whether it’s an MP3, an Ogg, a WMA, even a QuickTime file. Thanks to Martina for the Update.Download
Guest bmnot1
Media Player Classic (MPC) is a compact free software media player for Microsoft Windows. The application mimics the look and feel of the old, light-weight Windows Media Player 6.4 but uses a completely different codebase, integrating most options and features found in modern media players.Media Player Classic was created and is currently maintained by a programmer named "Gabest". Gabest originally developed Media Player Classic as a closed-source application, but later decided to make it open source. Media Player Classic is licensed under the GPL and has its own SourceForge.net project called guliverkli. After developing stopped in 2006 with v6.4.9.0, in 2007 it became part of the Guliverkli2 project with v6.4.9.1. ...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_player_classic
