majithia23
there are times when i think we all stumble over a good tune or a good piece of music , say in a radio , or in a video with no details , or in a video game ,or its humming at the back of mind , or an untagged mp3 file in your personal collection , ...its good but we dont know who sang it or its from which album , ..... :mellow:and then struggle hard to get that song id and details , ask here , ask there and all that .. and if lucky , we might be able to decode it but not always ...there is a paid service Shazam for smart phones that comes in handy in times like these .play the song , let the app in the phone hear it and it would then search for the song from its database .it works good .but nothing of this type for PC , so i was managing my song collection when i found many such type of orphaned songs with no details what so ever ..... >>one of friends recommended me this site ---- Midomiit works the same way .play the song , or hum the tune or sing it , and then click where it says click , let it listen for the entire preset duration of 10 secs and wait for the magic to happen ..!it does identify most of the songs .... :)excellent - 9/10 :)==========================================ok continuing , i found a few more solutions to the problem --->> A Tool for Music aficionados , simple put , Music Geeks ---- MusiPedia as the capture shows , it has plenty of options to enter a tune and find it .play a virtual piano , or enter a rhythm , or play it on the keyboard or simply sing or record through a microphone ..!and it works good too .good one --- 8/10 .. :)===================================================>> a small desktop app - Tunatic its not a web solution but a small desktop app . its free .and it works on Win 7 too .just let the song play in your media player and then start the app and click on the small lens icon and it would hear the song , upload it and then identify it .see the capture ....it worked fast some times , giving results in seconds some time and some times it took it a little longer .and it is more able to identify some of the more popular tracks .if a track is not that a hit , it might miss it to identify it ..but nonetheless ,its simple , neat and still works . 6/10 :)==================================================>> for those who run out of all the options previously mentioned , and fail to find the song in their heads with any of these services , try your luck with a community identify service . here the computer does not do the job , but rather users like you and me . record the song , upload it and the community would try to identify it and let you know ..here -- NameMyTuneits ok -- 4/10 so there you have it ....all the services i know off and all that worked for me ...if you know of any more , let us know ... ;)happy searching ... :)
