I give up hope and want back to Avast! free : solid and free ....

I find ESET very aggressive : with this update stop they let us know that they deal the cards and nobody else ... and they do do this from time to time. :pirate:

I always find it AMAZING how people can read "Conspiracy Theories" into every little thing, when they're using "free" software.

It is NOT an effort by ESET to "Stop" updates to you my friend, it is simply ESET having some issues with their eval update servers, and you can remove your tinfoil hat now.

Avast may be Free, but it's FAR from Solid. Rather poor track record for that product and I always have to chuckle when folks say that when they use Avast they never get infected....well, if Avast misses something and doesn't inform you that you're infected, then you wouldn't know you were...would you. Any AV can seem good if it never tells you anything has gotten past it, so the only way to know a good product is to read the tests at well known testing labs. It's there that you'll find Avast products have many failures and ESET has one of the top records in the industry.

In short zeppos, don't read more into things that there actually are, and do some homework when choosing your security setup.

v.2.70.31 wouldn't update with 3 installs. Installed v.2.70.39 and it updated in 2-3 manual clicks. Both used same Nsane Fix

:P

I have Nod32Fix 2.2 installed, and automatic updates failed since 02012008.

A few minutes ago changed to u30.eset.com server, and manually update worked fine.

Now is updated with 2776 (20080109).

Hello

In my nod32 v2.70.39 it stoped updating since 1-1-2008...

I tried using another server and that u30 but it does not work

Keep saying that is up to date.

Also uninstalled nod32 and the fix and reinstalled, same thing, and now I only have virus def from 20070518

Hello Buddies!

I'm just another one who's having difficulties updating nod32 v 2.70... but with nod32 viewer (that tells me what server has the updated file..) I'm updating manually everyday....

But this is not a fix users problem... I've read in wilders security foruns thst all nod32 trial users are having the same problem...!

Hope things get better soon... very soon!

All my best!

Hello :towel:

my NOD32 2.70.39 updates by itself again  but choosing a server in the list (not set on "choose automatically")

test with servers :

u##.eset.com : KO

h**p://u##.eset.com/nod_eval/ : OK :notworthy:

[NOTE] : ## between 20 & 49 of course ;)

don't know if it's the same 4 all ;)

thanks for that! works fine now. also, set update to only update program components when they are needed to make a virus signature work.

Cheers for the tip. Mine updated automatically this morning from u30***t.com.
