R0H1T
There's a discrepancy though, on page 11 NIS 2012 scores "fast" on the first run while opening a word file while ESET scores very fast in each & every test(first/subsequent runs) hence the AV-C score of Symantec should be atleast half a point lower than the 90 given making NOD32 the overall winner besides we all know that its the fastest AV around ;)
bwop
Anyone who claims that Symantec has the lowest impact on system performance is simply put, not to be trusted.

Gabben
Symantec is very light on resources, besides ESET 4 has got only heuristics and signatures and some kind of cloud wich they call ThreatSense but Norton has reputation system, report if an application uses too much resources, behavior protection wich based on ThreatFire from PC Tools, pulse updates in every few minutes. So thats what i call protection. ESET must release version 5 if they want to keep their customers.Im not a Symantec employee and not a Symantec fan, im using Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 wich is definetly heavier than Symantec or ESET but i think Symantec is doing a great job, only thing that i miss from their internet security is a sandbox. In my country ESET is very popular because it has an agressive marketing and 1 month free codes in every PC and game magazine. You can get your own ESET username and pass with that codes, and somebody always put the codes on forums. So basicly its free.
R0H1T
ESET for me is still the best protection out there even without an HIPS it also has the best options in terms of switching individual AV components like firewall, Web/Online control, AV/Antispyware ON or OFF & that two year old heuristics/signature based protection is still one of the best(if not already on top) out there besides that cloud thingy is way overrated IMHO ! Maxhedroom
imo, if you have to select your AV based on system load then it is probably time to upgrade your hardware.
