beto
Hi everyoneEach time I try to extract files from a .iso image using Poweriso I get this error:'This action cannot be completed because the "Program Manager" program is not responding. Choose "Switch To" and correct the problem'It happens only with poweriso and not with other softs. I tried different versions of PowerIso-4.6,4.7,4.8, uninstalled, reinstalled, cleaned the registry....googled and searched for hours on the net but no success. It happens only when extracting big files not small ones and when I click "Switch To" it works. Didn't try other similar softwear cause i love Poweriso and I'm used to it. Can not tell when the problem started (after installing or uninstalling something) as this error has been there for months now.I play with .iso images a lot and this pop up is killing me.Any help will be appreciatedWindows 7 ultimate x64 SP1 I7 950 6 gb ddr3 2 Tb hdd1, 500 gb hdd2
Administrator DKT27 Posted August 12, 2011 Administrator Share Posted August 12, 2011 Yes it happens with PowerISO. But do you use drag and drop for extracting files?

Administrator DKT27 Posted August 12, 2011 Administrator Share Posted August 12, 2011 Yeah as far as I remember, drag and drop seems to be creating the problem. I'll advice you to use the extract function instead.(I've read somewhere about it) that there's a difference between how drag and drop, and how extract works. Drag and drop is for older slower systems and extract is for new modern systems. When you drag and drop, it extracts the files to the temporary directory first and then it moves to the destination you want (hence double time). And when you extract, it seems that it directly extracts to the specified directory. Even with WinRAR and 7zip the same. It seems that there's a problem with how PowerISO handles drag and drop (just minor bug). So again, I advice you to use extract thing instead, or even try keeping the PowerISO window on top when extracting.
beto
DKT27 You are just GREATI tried extracting using "Extract" button and.....no more "Busy Server" pop up. I allways used drag and drop as it is quicker/easier way to extract for the user. I mean less mouse clicks. Thanks a lot
Administrator DKT27 Posted August 12, 2011 Administrator Share Posted August 12, 2011 You are most welcome. Using PowerISO from last 4 years or so. Had faced this particular problem many times. :)Now that you've mentioned it, next time when I'll email them, I'll mention this problem. ^_^ Extract function is superior though. :D
beto
DKT27 You are absolutely RIGHT. Now that I'm using "Extract" funtion it is really a lot faster and.......I don't get that extremely annoying pop up.I'm really thankfull as it was frustrating me so very much
