So... what was your first PC / Console platform you owned in your youthful days? Do you have any particular fond memories?

For me, it was the Commodore 64. There was nothing better at the time and the abundance of games was just amazing. Games such as the "Dizzy" series, Nemesis The Warlock, Kikstart II, Boulderdash & Pub Triva were all games that kept me occupied for years.

If anyone owned this computer, you'll know all too well about the loading times of the games, and when was the best time to go and get a drink ^_^

Anyway, your thoughts, and if I do miss one (and I most likely will), send me a PM and I'll add it

My first PC was an old IBM. It ran Windows 98 Plus! or something like that. It crapped out so fast. The first console I got was a Playstation, right when it came out and none of my friends had it. :P

my first pc was a compaq, god knows what model number, had this neat keyboard which fastened onto the screen, making it a carry case thing, took it as payment for an unpaid bill, d'uh :D I couldnt make any sense of the thing , all I could do was type in orange so i got a friend of mine to look at it, he's a comp engineer, and he promptly blew the mofo up, never worked again. He did replace it with an old IBM from his work though, 100mhz, 64mb ram a massive 500mb HD and a 5 inch floppy, i was the talk of the street, cool as a cucumber, hi-tech to the max. Never had internet or anything posh like that, just this big 'ol comp. When I finally got rid of it, it still had about 400mb of space on the hd. :D

My next one was a canon, which my work bought for me, I was soo excited, took it home, ripped it open, plugged it in, turned it on, woohoo, its working. except it wasnt actually a computer, it was just a word processor, spent the next few months pretending to be happy about it. :P

First console was a spectrum, I hated it, never won a game

My first game system was the Origonal Sega Genesis. Sonic the Hedhonge still kicks ass.

My first computer was a wordprocessor with 32k ram and no way to input new programs. Got that when I was 6 and was the only computer in the house till I was 15. Then I built myself a 486 66 with 32mb of ram. Windows 95 was on 30-some 3.5 disks.

Quite. I was wondering that actually. My first PC was indeed an Amiga600+, loved it... then got an Amiga1200 after that. Then came the Sony Playstation, so I got that and then finally started using 'proper' computers. That was a Celeron 1.8ghz, 128mb of ram, 20G HD, rather poor graphics card and a standard stereo soundcard.

The Mac SE was also one of the first Macs to include an Apple Desktop Bus (ADB), which allowed for up to 16 input devices. It sold for $2,898 for a dual floppy configuration. In August 1989, The SE was replaced by the SE FDHD. Thanks to Eric Rasmussen For OS info.

Amiga 500, it had 500kb of sys mem and a 500kb ram stick about half the size of a PSU. It kicked same year IBMs' arse, multi-task, 4086 colours, 4 channel sound.

 Contra "up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, start" = 30 lives!

I had an Atari 130XE. It's the reason I became interested in computers/programming. It has a built-in BASIC language installed. I think I still have my game cartridges.

After about 4 years of find. Today I can proudly say that I used to play NES when I was really young. Was too young to remember. :)
