RadioActive
MediaCoder is supposed to be a freeware encoder but lately they added a nag screen which turned it into crippleware because it's not just annoying, I can live with that, BUT when the nag screen is active it PAUSES all active jobs effectively rendering the program useless since I rely on batch processing. So, anyone know a way to get around that horrid nag-screen? anything? RadioActive
try the solutions on this page Thanks, but he's talking about the "welcome screen" which is annoying as hell but somewhat harmless. I'm on the other hand talking about an actual nag screen that pops up every now and then asking me to donate or buy the premium version and while it stays on top it pauses all active jobs which is absurd to say the least. OhMyGod
I suggest to post a thread into MediaCoder's forum and ask the developer. Also express you feelings about this nag screen. Some developers really want to satisfy their users, so it might be your best bet.Thanks. :D
mara-
Maybe app can be codded in AutoIt which will sit in tray and when it detect window, it will close it automatically. Post screen shot of nag.Cheers ;)

Post screen shot of nag. Cheers ;) Here's a screenshot of the nag screen (attached). also the "59" in the title bar is a counter that counts indefinitely as long as the window is open (starts from 1 with increments of +1 as long as the window is open). I hope that helps, and thanks in advance :) Edit: one thing I forgot to mention; the "Later" button (which is the exit button for this window) is greyed out when the window first appears then gets enabled after about 10 seconds countdown. OhMyGod
The worst part is the least amount of donation accepted to receive a registration code is $15.00.That is asking too much, I believe many users are more likely to donate like $1.00 or $5.00.Now those users will not donate at all because of the nag screen removal costs $15.00.Thanks. :D

mara-
Will this appear during every conversion? I need to know when to expect pop-up, so it's easier to work.Cheers ;)
RadioActive
Will this appear during every conversion? I need to know when to expect pop-up, so it's easier to work. Cheers ;) From what I noticed, it appears every time after 4 consecutive jobs (batch mode) and so on. But I can't be 100% certain, I'll try to test it now and report back. Edit: I was wrong regarding my previous assumption. I believe it simply pops up after a certain amount of time has passed, unfortunately there's no easy way to be certain. mara-
OK, but it's the same thing as when I press Support->Get Media ID, and difference is waiting for 10 seconds? If yes, I'll make something with that and you can test it.Cheers ;)
RadioActive
OK, but it's the same thing as when I press Support->Get Media ID, and difference is waiting for 10 seconds? Yes, exactly. The only difference is the 10 secs delay to enable the "Later" button, other than that it's the same window/screen.

Smells like CALL USER32.SetTimer or/and CALL kernel32.Sleep API is called somewhere in between ;) (that should be quite easy to fix..) on which language it is coded with? Protection other than nag/serial? (Use Protection ID to identify)
shajt
I guess I can kill it easily , just to confirm... is this the right version ? The latest version of MediaCoder is 2011 R7 Last Updated: Jul. 19th, 2011 My link Okay, I think I've got it. Is there a way to provoke that nag ? How long you have to wait before it appears, what can I do to make sure that it appears as soon as possible ? A'ight , I waited long enough, executed one job, converted one video , never used this app before , really can't wait that long to see is it working or not, but it should be fine. Test it if you wish and let me know whether it's working or not : Link
RadioActive
PM sent to test before I release it. Cheers ;) I tested it through the night and I can confirm it works without a hitch. Test it if you wish and let me know whether it's working or not : Link You can "provoke" the screen through Support > Get MediaCoder ID. I tried to test your file but it didn't work for me, I copied it into the program directory but when I try to run it I get an error, something about missing jpeg.dll. Thanks nonetheless for your effort :)

shajt
Strange, I get that error when I run it outside the program directory (which I assumed u did) , you get the same message btw when running original executable outside the program directory.Never mind, it seems that you found the solution, so everything is good :)
