RadioActive
I'm considering buying a new (Android) smartphone but unfortunately I can't afford anything high-end since I'm paying its price in full (no subscription discount).Anyways, here are the ones I'm comparing between:1) HTC Wildfire S (1900 EGP)Quad-band GSM and dual-band 3G support7.2 Mbps HSDPA support3.2" 256K-color TFT capacitive touchscreen of HVGA (320 x 480 pixels) resolution600MHz Snapdragon MSM7227 CPU, Adreno 200 GPU; 418MB of user-available RAMAndroid 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) with HTC Sense 2.1 UIWi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n with hotspot functionalityGPS with A-GPS connectivity; digital compass5 MP autofocus camera, LED flash, geotagging and face-detectionVGA video @ 24fpsmicroUSB port (charging) and stereo Bluetooth v3.0microSD slot (up to 32GB, 2GB in box)Standard 3.5 mm audio jackAccelerometer, proximity sensorGorilla Glass displayStereo FM radio with RDSLight and compactTurn-to-mute, lift-to-tone-down, flip for speakerphoneSmart dialingXviD video supportHTCSense.com integrationHTC Portable HotspotUltra-fast boot times (if you don't remove battery)2) Samsung Galaxy Ace (2000 EGP)Quad-band GSM and dual-band 3G support7.2 Mbps HSDPA support3.5" 16M-color TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen of HVGA (320 x 480 pixels) resolution800MHz ARM 11 processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset; 278MB of RAM available to the userAndroid OS v2.2 (Froyo) with TouchWiz 3.0 UI customizationSwype text input5 MP autofocus camera with LED flash; Geo-tagging, face and smile detectionQVGA@15fps videomicroSD slot (up to 32GB, 2GB in box)Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n and DLNAGPS with A-GPS connectivity; Digital compassmicroUSB port (charging) and stereo Bluetooth v2.1Standard 3.5 mm audio jackDNSe sound enhancementFM radio with RDSDocument editorFile manager preinstalledSamsung Apps brings a few nice apps for freeAccelerometer and proximity sensor Another one to consider, mainly 'coz it's pretty cheap:3) LG Optimus One P500 (1600 EGP)3.2" 256K-color capacitive TFT touchscreen of HVGA resolution (320 x 480 pixels); Multi-touch inputQuad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE supportDual-band 3G with HSDPA (7.2 Mbps)600MHz CPU running Android 2.2 Froyo; 419MB RAM3 megapixel autofocus camera; face and smile detection, geotaggingVGA video recording @ 18fpsmicroSD card slot, up to 32GB, 2GB in the boxStandard 3.5mm audio jackStandard microUSB port (charging)GPS receiver with A-GPS; Digital compassWi-Fi b/g; Wi-Fi hotspot functionality built-inBluetooth 2.1 with A2DPAccelerometer for screen auto rotate; Proximity sensorFM radio with RDSOffice document editorPortrait and landscape on-screen QWERTY keyboardSocial networking integrationDivX/XviD supportSmart dialingExcellent loudspeaker performance4) Motorola Quench XT5 XT502 (1600 EGP)TFT capacitive touchscreen, 256K colors320 x 480 pixels, 3.2 inchesGorilla Glass displayTrackballAccelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotateProximity sensor for auto turn-offMOTOBLUR UI with Live Widgets100 MB storage, 512 MB ROM, 256 MB RAMGPRS Class 12 (4+1/3+2/2+3/1+4 slots), 32 - 48 kbpsEDGE Class 123G HSDPA, 7.2 MbpsWi-Fi 802.11 b/gBluetooth v2.0 with A2DP, EDR5 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels, LED flashVideo 320x480@15 fpsAndroid OS, v2.1 (Eclair)600 MHz ARM 11 processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset On the other hand I found something that isn't really "Budget" but worth mentioning due its reasonable (albeit a 'lil expensive) price.5) Motorola DEFY (2600 EGP)World's first durable Android smartphoneScratch-resistant Gorilla Glass screen, dustproof and water-resistant (no official certification)3.7" capacitive TFT touchscreen of WVGA (480 x 854) resolution, 16M colorsQuad-band GSM/EDGE, HSDPA 900/2100Android OS 2.1 Eclair with custom MOTOBLUR UITI OMAP3610 800 MHz processor512MB RAM, 2GB onboard storagemicroSD card slot (up to 16GB), 2GB card included5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and geotaggingVGA video @ 30fpsWi-Fi and Bluetooth (with A2DP) connectivityBuilt-in GPS receiver, digital compassmicroUSB port, charging enabledStandard 3.5 mm audio jackFM radio with RDSAccelerometer for UI auto-rotateActive noise cancellation with a dedicated micNice social networking integrationSwype text inputWeb browser with Adobe Flash LiteVery good audio qualityAwesome web-connected music playerVideo player has Xvid video supportThe DEFY is very tempting but it's still ain't exactly cheap, I know it beats the previous 3 phones hands-down (specs-wise) but the question is, is it worth the difference (in money)? LeetPirate
I think the HTC Wildfire S will be faster and more responsive than the Samsung Galaxy Ace. Wait, you sure the Wildfire S is using a Snapdragon CPU? I think those are 1Ghz. Anyway doesn't matter, the Wildfire S is the better and faster phone and that's the one I would pick. It should also have better battery life. The gorilla glass is something to want as well.

implague
both fones are good in there specs but which qualities u prefer more eg. some people want better camera and muzik and some others want the browsing and other stuff if u want a good camera and music then go for samsung but the battery life is worst but i am sure if u want to do multitasking then HTC is far better than samsung
Trap
Read some where HD Games don't run on HTC Wildfire S :(

'cause I HATE when I can't see a damn thing outdoors.
mara-
Motorola looks nice. It's only phone from your list that supports Flash, at least light version. It's upgradable to Android v2.2. Plenty RAM and nice CPU. I would go for this, if you can afford it.Cheers ;)

RadioActive
worth mentioning Motorola Quench XT5 ^_^ Only thing it lacks is Android OS 2.1 :frusty:I was considering it but I think the Wildfire S is better and their price is close here. Anyways, I'll add it to the list for reference :)I have Motorola Defy, i love it, especially since they released Froyo in Europe. Very good smartphone.I've read that there rumors that Motorola is working on a Gingerbread update for the DEFY, there even leaks out there.Edit: Anyways, I'm still considering the DEFY but I will most likely *not* buy it since 700+ EGP is still a lot of money and I'm not sure it's worth it. So, I would appreciate it if you guys would compare the first 4 phones against each other and the DEFY just against itself (whether it is worth it or not). Thanks for all your help.
